Adventures to Manly

Today we went on a ferry to Manly. It was brilliant because we got to see the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was great to see them since they are the most famous sights to see when in Sydney. We are possibly going to see them in more detail tomorrow.
We went out to a fabulous bar in Kings Cross yesterday. It was called 'The World Bar' and it is apparently ran by an English man so all the cocktails are served in teapots and shot glasses. I, somehow, felt surprisingly qaint, lovely and extremely proud to be a Brit, haha!

We went to Manly on a ferry which was lovely, especially as the weather was yummy. (Don't fret Mama, I am suncreaming lots and lots!) I managed to get some nice photos of the sights along the way.

Once we got there, we sunbathed at Manly beach and I even went on my first swim of the trip. It wasn't exactly a bath but it was quite refreshing nevertheless. We then decided to mix it up and move to another beach called Shelly Beach. We saw a lovely sunset there whilst we waited before heading back to the ferry. We decided to get the ferry back when it was dark so we could see the sights in the dark. It was lovely but I couldn't put up any nice photos due to my camera (my old one admittedly, so it is forgiven) taking crazy, blurry shots since it can't cope without a flash. The results are pretty arty and I am going to pretend that I did them on purpose.

Anyway, that is all for now. We are starting our Oz Experience bus on Saturday morning so I am not sure when the next time I will be able to blog. I will be sure to keep you guys posted though.

A Sunny Stroll to Bondi Beach

Yesterday we got up fairly early, although I think we slept for about 10 hours.  I think I am cured of my jetlag. Yay!

We went for a walk along the coast within Sydney.  We started off at Coogee Beach.  It was delicious weather, a comfortable 24 degrees C.  I have compared myself to an enzyme, I feel my best at my optimum temperature (24 degrees C, apparently). If it gets any higher I feel I will denature and not function properly!  Bit of a bizarre comparision admittedly, but the best thing I could come up with and now I am not sure why I shared that with you!

So, we sunbathed for a while.  Claire and Graham went swimming in the sea although Graham is certain he nearly drowned as the massive waves splashed over him.  Me and Kerry decided to play it safe and watch from the shore, especially as there were many amusing photo opportunities of Graham floundering about.

We then for a walk towards Bronte beach.  We walked along the cliffs and took photos.  I got a bit scared when Graham asked me to sit on the edge of the cliff to pose for a photo but hopefully it looks good.  We also saw some MASSIVE spiders.  I spotted one and grabbed Graham in surprise and he screamed a little bit.  I didn't even mean to make him jump, haha!

The final beach we went to was our final destination Bondi Beach.  It was a very cool place with loads of surfers.  We did get harassed by seagulls at lot.  Kerry was getting stalked by one in particular.  It kept running around her and creeping towards her when she wasn't looking.  I think it was something to do with the fact that she was eating.

We must have walked for about 3 hours in total with little naps had in between.  Apparently it works out at about 6km but it seemed to take us ages!

24 Hours in Thailand...

I am writing to you now from Sydney, Australia.  Since leaving England on Saturday night, we have had very little sleep.  We have been away for four days and only slept in a bed once!  It has been difficult travelling through different timezones.  I never seem to know what time it is and I am not sure what  meals I should be eating and when.  It makes your brain hurt.  It also makes sleeping on planes even harder since you feel you should sleep but can't because it's actually 8 or so hours later than you think.

Anyway, tomorrow we have exciting plans to go to Bondi Beach.  We are walking along the coast from Sydney to have a look at all the lovely coast.  Should be good and I hope to put lots of photos up.

Meanwhile, here are some shots from our trip to Thailand.

This is the view from our hotel.  Huts were built over water.  The photo is so faded because my camera steamed up due to the heat.

Statues in the airport.

This is my crazy orange Fanta.  Had to put a photo of this up since it looks like jelly.  It actually gave me the shakes from the sugar.

Basically, we relaxed during our stay in Bangkok.  It was a shame that we didn't get a chance to explore but looking at the news recently, it wasn't worth the risk.

We had a lovely time bobbing around in the swimming pool and drinking cocktails.  I could definitely get used to that!

Follow Me..!

My friend Zoe Green of www.twodotsover.blogspot.com has designed me this loverly logo of Kevin from the Pixar movie "Up!" The reason I wanted it is to entice you regular readers to start following me officially.

What are followers and what is following?

Basically, when you follow a blog, it allows the blogger (author of blog) to know who is reading their blog. It also means that you can get easy access to my blog and it informs you of when I blogged last.

If you like my blog, if you stumbled across it by accident, or you already know me inside out and back to front, please feel free to follow, it would be great to see you guys!

I would like more followers is to see who is reading my blog so I know who I am writing to. Plus, it only takes a second.

It is easy peasy to do. On the right hand side of my blog, under the above Kevin logo is a button:

Please click on said button ---------------->

It will then ask you to add a username and password. It will also require an email address. Don't worry, you aren't signing up to anything dangerous or anything that will send you bucketfuls of spam. It just creates a username (and a profile you can leave blank, if you chose to) so I can see who is following me.

Once you have done this you will appear on my blog under "Followers". Yay!

It is possible for you to leave comments under each blog entry. You can do this by clicking the little orange comments link (usually says 0 comments :-( Ha!) which appears at the end of each blog entry. Then I will be able to reply to you! :-)

Please leave lots and lots of comments. It would be lovely to hear from you all.

Sunshine Sequin Central

(New Look - Sequin Top, Cardigan - Primark, Shorts - Primark, Tights - Primark, Watch - ASOS)

Figured I hadn't done an outfit post in ages.
Thought it was only right to wear sequins in the sunshine.

Flick came out to join me. Although, she just wanted to play catch with me so she kept lobbing her broken frisbee at me. Then she decided the frisbee tasted good so she started munching on it instead. She is one silly mutt.

Week of Fun

Due to being unable to fly to Thailand when we wanted to, we decided to have ourselves a Week of Fun! Since last Saturday, we have been to the beach at Clacton (Essex) and to Alton Towers.

Firstly, for our beach trip. Zoe Green wanted to go to a beach so we roadtripped to Clacton-On-Sea, a surprisingly nice beach which had everything that required us to have a fabulous British Beach Holiday in a day. We had not-so-toasted paninis, ice cream, walks on the pier and all of this whilst wearing a straw hat. Basically making us beautifully stereotypical British holiday makers, all in one day!

Here are some shots of the day:

On Monday we went to Alton Towers. When we left Bedfordshire, it was sunny and had the makings of a perfect British Summer day. Once we made it up north, it turned into a completely different story. Dressed in Summer mode proved freezing and I was so close to buying some socks (with sandals, no less) to warm my freezing, practically frost bitten toes. Shame the only socks available were £12. That wasn't going to happen. I had to man up and freeze.

Good times were definitely had though. We managed to run around the park to get every ride we wanted to do done. My personal favourite was Nemesis, that old time roller coaster which has been in Alton Towers for as long as I can remember. We even went on the front for a couple of rides because the queues weren't long at all.

I want to write about our travel situation but worry about cursing us, so I will leave it at hoping with all hopes to fly out at the weekend.

Travel Update

Our flight to Bangkok has been cancelled due to the ash from the volcano eruption over in sunny Iceland. We have managed to get on the next available flight which turns out to be 24th April. Luckily, we fly out to Australia a couple of days after this and not before the 24th. This would have been problematic, and would have resulted in us changing all of our flights. Well, fingers crossed that this doesn't happen anyway.

This week, we have decided, is to be our week of fun. We are planning to roadtrip, possibly up to Alton Towers. Today, we are stuffing ourselves full on Nandos. Comfort eating is always the best plan.

I will keep you updating on the travel situation if it changes.

Disagreements with the Powers That Be

Well, it seems to me that luck is against me lately. Not only has Kerry broken her toe about a week before we are due to fly, there have been riots in Bangkok as I mentioned below, a volcanic eruption from Iceland which has resulted in closure of the British Air Space (for the first time ever - good one) and then to make matters worse, someone broke into my car today.

I can see bad luck following me around like a big black cloud of doom. It's like I broke a mirror without noticing and there is a curse following me around. Claire even thought I was cursed before she knew about the car incident.

On a more amusing note, here is some ridiculous photos of me all packed and ready to go.

This is what I look like when I carry my whole world on my shoulders. Not a good look but too funny not to put up.
